UNM Alumni Association Scholarships



The University of New Mexico Alumni Association offers many scholarships to assist UNM students with their academic expenses.

Gifts from alumni, friends, and chapters assist top UNM students with their academic expenses.

The UNM Alumni Association has scholarships available to full-time (12 hrs.) undergraduate students at the University of New Mexico as well as three scholarships available to graduate students.

Leadership/Community Service/Campus Involvement

CRITERIA

Full-time undergraduate
3.2 or above Grade Point Average
Must demonstrate leadership and service to UNM and the Community

  • The Kathleen McCann Lambda Theta Scholarship
    • $500/semester - $1000/year
    • Must be a student of teacher education in the College of Education at UNM
    • 3.5 or above Grade Point Average

The Harry F. Lee Memorial Scholarship

  • $550/semester - $1100/year
  • Must come from a rural area
  • Must plan on returning to his/her community after completing college to give back to that community.

Graduate Scholarships

Anne J. Brown – Master of Public Administration Graduate Scholarship.

The UNM Alumni Association offers this scholarship to graduate students who are in the Masters of Public Administration graduate program at the University of New Mexico. The UNM Alumni Association, based on the criteria indicated below, will select a recipient:

  • $700/semester - $1400/year
  • Must be enrolled in the Masters of Public Administration (MPA) graduate program at UNM.
  • Must have successfully completed 6 credit hours as a regular student in the MPA program.
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 5 graduate hours per semester during the scholarship period.

FEMALE ONLY

Undergraduate:

The Jean Mullins Macey Scholarship

  • $650/semester - $1300/year
  • This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of outstanding campus service to a full-time junior or senior woman at the University of New Mexico with a 3.0 or better grade point average.

Graduate:

The UNM Alumni Association offers the following scholarships to female students who are in a graduate program at the University of New Mexico. The UNM Alumni Association, based on the criteria indicated below for each scholarship, selects the recipients.

Executive Women International, Albuquerque Chapter.

  • $450/semester - $900/year
  • Female preparing to advance her current career, change careers, or re-enter the workforce.
  • During the time of the scholarship, the recipient should be enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate hours.
  • Satisfactory academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or better).
  • Outstanding campus (or community) service and leadership

Albuquerque Branch AAUW Scholarship for Graduate Women

  • $400/semester - $800/year
  • Female preparing to advance her current career, change careers, or re-enter the workforce.
